On the home page of the Gas Furnace Guide, we keep a running list of the Top Rated furnaces, as voted and reviewed by you, the website readers. In the new year, we expect several new home furnaces to be joining the list and decided to take a quick look at the top 5 you chose in 2010, before they get bumped off! In this article, we provide an overview of the top rated furnaces in 2010, based on your reviews. One of the first things we notice every time we look at the homepage of the site, is how dominant the Trane brands are!

As we previously mentioned in the top part of this article, Trane and American Standard furnaces (Same brand really) seem to have an overwhelming group of happy owners, as compared to any other furnace brand! The only other standout in the top 5 ratings was a Carrier.

Our Pick for the Top Rated Furnace of 2010

Looking over the list of the top rated furnaces, we decided to poll a small sampling of our industry related friends. Of the 20-25 people we spoke to, the dollar for dollar value put the Trane XL 2-Stage furnace as the most often chosen.

When I asked a few people why… cost of furnace replacement aside, the answer was strictly based on value for your money. The Trane XL was a considerably lower cost than any of the other furnace prices in of the top rated furnaces in 2010.

    We put in a TRANE furnace over the winter this year because one of my wifes brothers said they are the best gas furnaces around. I agree! Itr wasn’t cheap, but it was well worth the money. Quiet, and steady, nothing beats a trane right? haha
