We installed several of these units for others, it would be great to get some of them to come back and review them with us here!

Our company has installed quite a few of the American Standard Gas Furnaces. This is a very popular and reliable gas furnace that you will be very satisfied with!

My brother-inlaw suggested we choose an American Standard furnace since he has one installed and loves it! We chose the freedom 95 in Jan 2010 after learning we would get the tax credit and save on a factory rebate also!

Overall the freedom 95 has been a good furnace, runs nice and quiet, and the only problems we have had in the year that we have owned it was that it wouldn’t start last week when it got cold. It worked perfect all summer with the AC running.

Turned out to be a problem with the vent piping which was fixed in less than 1 hour, but still left us a bit sour due to the unit being so new.

      Jenni –

      Thanks for your review.

Do you know what the company had to do to correct the vent pipe issue? (I am assuming you called the company who installed it) Was it just an issue from the installation of the furnace or had you used the heat last year also?

It almost sounds like a bird may have nested… and obstructed the venting.

      Thanks,

      Mark

We has a Freedom 95 furnace in our home and it has been much better than the old carrier we had removed. The carrier was here when we moved into the house so I don’t know how old it was, but it was breaking down every year. The Freedom 95 is 2 years old now and has not stuttered yet!

Thank you for your great review site also. I am helping my daughter find a new heater for their home and found your furnace reviews and guides very helpful.

I had a brand new unit installed two years ago. It has been broken for four times. And everytime it was in a very cold weather. If you do not want to suffer, find another furnace.

  6. Bill says:

I had it installed a year ago, I have been very pleased. It is much more efficient than our old Trane and much quieter. I think the company you choose to install you furnace has a lot to do with your satisfaction.

  7. Randy says:

We bought our Freedom 95 in late June of 2011. This was right before the excessively hot summer, and this unit did great…never had a bill over a $100 for any hot month. But we have had several problems…the furnace quit one time last winter, and has now quit again. Service tech couldn’t figure out what was wrong, so he is trying to contact a company rep about what he thinks the problem is. We also had a problem with the AC shutting off, and found out the condensing drain hose had plugged up somehow. So far, I like the way the unit functions when it works, but am getting tired of the problems we are having with such a new unit.
